Adequately Served Areas are places around Australia that already have high-speed fibre broadband networks from companies other than nbn co; like Opticomm and Telstra Velocity.

How do I check if I’m in an Adequately Served Area?

You can check your address on our Telstra nbn network rollout map to find out if you’re in an Adequately Served Area. If you are, it will be displayed with a blue outline and listed as ‘Other fibre provider’.

If you are covered under ‘Other fibre provider’, then unless that fibre is provided by Telstra Velocity, we may not be able to provide you with a fixed broadband service.

What if I’m in an Adequately Served Area and I still want the a service on the nbn network?

  • There are no current plans to rollout the nbn network in most of the Adequately Served Areas. This is to avoid network duplication.
  • If you’re an existing Telstra customer moving into one of these areas, we can discuss alternative options with you.
