Before you start, make sure you have ...
An active, fixed broadband internet connection (nbn™, Cable, ADSL/2). You don’t need to be a Telstra broadband customer.
A home Wi-Fi network (2.4 GHz) / Wi-Fi Gateway/modem/router.
In order to run Telstra Smart Home Wi-Fi cameras, you must have a Wi-Fi modem with Universal Plug and Play (UPnP) enabled.
If you are a Telstra customer, all gateways sold since 2009 have this feature.
Many recent non-Telstra Wi-Fi modems also have this feature. Check with your service provider or modem manufacturer for further information.
If you do not have a Wi-Fi modem with UPnP, we recommend you purchase a new Wi-Fi modem or router (depending on your service provider’s requirements) and set it up before your Telstra Smart Home Starter Kit is delivered.
Mains power connections. Cameras, light bulbs, and smart power plugs require a mains power connection. All other devices are battery powered.
An iOS or Android smart phone or tablet to set up your Telstra Smart Home via the app. Setup cannot be completed via Windows mobile, Blackberry device or desktop computer. You can access the Telstra Smart Home Web Portal via desktop computer after you have set up your Telstra Smart Home Starter Kit.
A Telstra ID to log into the Telstra Smart Home App and Web Portal. We’ll email you details on how to set up your Telstra ID if you don’t have one already when you purchase your Telstra Smart Home Starter Kit.
Not all heating andcooling systems are compatible with the Zen Smart Thermostat. Check whether yours is before you purchase at http://zenthermostat.com/compatibility
