Using the App and Web Portal

Light the way for late night travellers

Matt’s son often gets up at night. To save him from getting scared when walking through the house in the dark, Matt’s set up a Wide Beam Motion Sensor in his hallway and attached a Smart Power Plug to the hallway lamp. He’s set up an automation so the light magically turns on when he walks down the hallway at night, and then turns off again a few minutes later. Hopefully Matt can get a little more sleep now.

Bring your Smart Home to life

The key to having a Smart Home is creating automations. An automation is an instruction that tells a Smart Home device what to do and when to do it  It's easy to set up automations in the Telstra Smart Home App or Web Portal. For example:

  • Switch off the iron, hair straightener or kettle when everyone leaves for work or school
  • Switch on the living room lamps when the family gathers round the TV at night
  • Not sure if you closed the back door? Check in the app
  • Receive an SMS or email alerts based on the automations you’ve set up
  • Have your Telstra ID handy as you will need it when signing in for the first time
