How do I activate the Telstra Device Locator?
You’ll find information about how to activate your Device Locator at Telstra Device Locator.

Do I need location services turned on all the time?
Yes. To locate your device, location services and data must be turned on.
Can I use Telstra Device Locator overseas?
Yes. To use Telstra Device Locator overseas, ensure you have international roaming activated on all mobile services and devices with Device Locator enabled.
Your Telstra SIM card must be in your device to use Device Locator.
Standard international roaming and data charges apply.
What should I do if I upgrade or change my phone?
With any new device, you’ll need to set up the Device Locator.
- Ensure your Telstra SIM card is in the device
- Download the Telstra 24x7 app and sign in with your Telstra ID
- Enable Telstra Device Locator in the Telstra 24x7 app

I can’t see the location of my device in Telstra Device Locator, why?
There are a few reasons why your device has stopped being visible.
The device could be:
- Switched off
- Out of battery
- The device user may have stopped sharing their locationwith you. You’ll still be able to see the time and last known location of the device.
‘Not Sharing’ will be displayed against the device if sharing had been turned off.

Is there a limit to how many devices I can locate with my Telstra Device Locator?
There is no device limit for small business customers. The Device Locator supports all mobile services under your Telstra ID (account).
Will enabling this feature impact my device (e.g. battery life, speeds, data usage)?
The amount of power used depends on a variety of factors including how frequently you use Telstra Device Locator. Your speed performance will not be noticeably impacted.
Use of Telstra Device Locator may incur data charges.
Can I opt out of or turn off this feature in my Telstra 24x7 app?
The Telstra Device Locator feature is not enabled automatically.
If you’ve activated Telstra Device Locator you can opt out at any time. To disable Telstra Device Locator, simply sign in to your Telstra 24x7 app and select the option to disable.
As a Telstra Small Business customer, can I use the Telstra Device Locator feature on Telstra 24x7 app?
Telstra Device Locator is designed for personal use only.
The feature will be available to some business customers within the Telstra 24x7 app with a Telstra ID, but it’s not designed for business purposes.
What is the difference between Telstra Device Locator and Telstra Locator?
Telstra Locator™ is a subscription service that allows you to locate things such as your valuable assets, tools, keys, wallet or dog. By attaching a Telstra Locator Tag to your valuables, you’ll be able to use the Telstra Locator App to help find your possessions if they go missing. You'll also be able to locate your compatible iOS and Android smartphones and tablets from the Telstra Locator App.
Whereas, Telstra Device Locator is a feature in the Telstra 24x7 app which allows you to locate devices under your Telstra account.Telstra Device Locator allows you to locate both Android and iOS Pre-Paid and mobiles on a plan under your Telstra account all within the same app.
