How to activate a Wi-Fi hotspot on your phone

18 April 2018

Sharing your mobile data allocation is really cool and can be a very handy thing to know! You can share your mobile data by turning on the device’s 'hotspot' feature. It's also called a ‘personal hotspot’ on Apple devices. The hotspot allows you to use your data allowance on another device.

This could be one that's only Wifi enabled and doesn’t have its own data. Or it could be that you have a device with only a small amount of data and you don’t want to go over your limit.

You can also share your mobile data with others. Just ensure you have a password that you only share with people you trust. And remember to turn it off once you’re done!

Our Telstra Platinum expert techs are also available to help with how to turn on and off hotspots on your devices.
