How to adjust your browser size
Having trouble because your software or browser screen has shifted to one side, and don’t know how to get it back? Often it's because we've dragged our program or browser window off our screen without realising it.
This video will help you fix the problem. For easy reference, we've listed the keyboard shortcuts mentioned in the video for maximising, minimising, or moving the window (for Windows computers):
- Win + Up Arrow Key = Restore (when minimised)/maximise
- Win + Down Arrow Key = Restore (when maximised)/minimise
- Win + Left Arrow Key = attach to left half of screen/move to left monitor
- Win + Right Arrow Key = attach to right half of screen/move to right monitor
These keyboard shortcuts are especially helpful when Windows thinks you have an extra monitor and you can’t move the window to your main monitor. This mostly happens when you connect or disconnect a monitor, but it can happen in other instances.
In most operating systems, you can also drag the window to the relevant side of the screen and it will resize to match. For example, it will resize to half the screen if you drag it to the left, or will maximise if you drag it to the top.
A tip on screen resolution in Windows 10
- Check your computers settings by clicking with the right mouse button on the desktop, then select ‘Display Settings’
- You will see the category ‘Scale and Layout’ below,
- You can adjust the percentage, and check the browser window to see which suits best.
