What happens during installation?

.To connect to the nbn on FTTC, we will help you to install an nbn Network Connection Device and a compatible Telstra Smart modem™.

nbn service installation process

To connect you to FTTC, the nbn are using the existing copper cable running into your home. In many cases, nbn can connect you without needing to visit your premises.

If you don’t have an existing copper cable, we’ll arrange for an nbn technician to connect your premises. In some cases, even where you are already using your copper line for voice or broadband, an nbn service appointment will be required to test and connect to the nbn.

  • On the day of installation, someone over 18 whose name is on the account must be home to let the technician in. If you're renting make sure you get your landlord’s approval beforehand.

In-home equipment

Fibre to the curb connects to your existing phone socket. To connect to the nbn on FTTC, we will help you to install an nbn Network Connection Device and a compatible Telstra Smart modem.

After the nbn Connection Box is installed any other phone sockets will no longer work unless rewired.
