Fibre To The Node
(FTTN) / Fibre To The
Building (FTTB).
Everything you need to know before you choose
your internet plan.
What happens during installation?
The installation process is the same whether it’s to your building or via the node.
nbn™ service installation process
We’ll arrange for an nbn co technician to connect you to the nbn™ using the existing copper cable running into your home.
Depending on what services you’re planning to connect, the technician may require access to your home.
- If you already have a home phone service you won’t need an nbn™ service appointment.
- If you’re a new home phone customer you will need an nbn™ service appointment. On the day of installation, someone over 18 whose name is on the account must be home to let the technician in. If you're renting make sure you get your landlord’s approval beforehand.
In-home equipment
Fibre to the building and fibre to the node connects your modem to your existing phone socket so you won’t need additional equipment. After the nbn™ network is connected any other phone sockets will no longer work unless rewired.
