When you want to get in touch with friends and family in another country – including Australia – you’ll need to know the country code.
When you get there
Turn on your device when you reach your destination, and ensure data roaming is switched on. Then you can:
- Auto-connect to the local mobile network. You’ll receive an SMS from us that confirms your roaming is working, including the local pay-as-you-go rates (if your device is capable of receiving an SMS)
- Enable your Day Pass for more cost-effective roaming.
We’ll send you SMS alerts to keep you informed of your spend and usage.
- If you’re using a Day Pass, we’ll send you an SMS when you’ve used 50%, 85%, and 100% of your Day Pass data allowance.
- If you’re using data at our pay-as-you-go rates or exceed your Day Pass allowance, we’ll send you an alert for every $100 of data used.
There is no charge for receiving these SMS alerts.
