Telstra to stream netball live to mobiles

Media Release, 07 June 2013

Telstra will broadcast Australia’s most popular female participation sport live to mobiles.

Telstra’s mobile network will provide netball fans with the opportunity to watch every ANZ Championship game and Australian international Test via a monthly $5.95 subscription.

Telstra Director Digital Media and Content, Adam Good, said the sport’s popularity demanded a premium live and on-the-go offering.

“Netball is loved here and across the Tasman – it’s one of our most popular sports and the ability to tune in to the elite action live on your mobile is a big win for fans,” Mr Good said.

“Telstra customers now have on-the-go access to live netball, AFL and NRL matches, with the significant bonus of being able to watch it all free of any data streaming charges.”

ANZ Championship General Manager Andy Crook said: “Our fans now have more ways than ever to watch the ANZ Championship across multiple platforms, including subscription television, free-to-air and digital, courtesy of our partners FOX SPORTS, SBS and Telstra.”

Telstra’s SportsFan will deliver all games via its Scores & Sport TV Action Pack, available to compatible Telstra Next G, 3G and 4G feature phones and smartphones, as well all the latest news and views, live scores, and results.
