Media Release, 16 July 2013

Telstra today announced it has entered into a multi-million dollar, five-year agreement with Tabcorp to deliver mobile voice, data, Application Assured Networking and fixed telephony services to the company in Australia and overseas.

The agreement, which includes an option to extend for another five years, also features access to Telstra’s Next G and Next IP networks, digital video networking and video conferencing technology.

Tabcorp, Australia’s leading wagering, racing media and Keno operator, runs various consumer brands including TAB.com.au, Keno, Luxbet, Tabcorp Gaming Solutions, Sky Racing and Sky Sports Radio.

Tabcorp’s Chief Information Officer, Kim Wenn, said the wide-ranging services agreement with Telstra will supply the technology services to power Tabcorp’s digital future, including online wagering platforms, enhanced digital content, mobile solutions, live betting and self-service kiosks.

“Tabcorp’s unique multi-channel distribution model enables customers to transact with us through more channels than any other operator in the country. This inherently demands flexibility, reliability and speed-to-market with rich media content distribution. Working closely with Telstra, Tabcorp will consolidate and optimise its technology services as well as create a robust platform to pursue innovative new digital customer portals across online, mobile, media and retail,” said Ms Wenn.

“The new telecommunications infrastructure creates growth opportunities for Tabcorp and will enhance the quality and reliability of our customer experience across our vast distribution network.”

Paul Geason, Group Managing Director, Telstra Enterprise and Government, said the partnership with Tabcorp will see the gambling entertainment group benefit from more efficient, reliable and managed architectures.

“Tabcorp is embracing a digital future – investing in media distribution, retail technologies as well as online and mobile solutions. We believe we can help Tabcorp deliver improved end user experiences, enabling quicker, more reliable and secure transactions domestically and abroad,” said Mr Geason.

“We are proud to be working with Tabcorp, offering the technology framework to power its future business interests.”
