State of Origin on your iPad LIVE!

Media Release, 26 June 2013

The NRL Live 2013 App for iPad®, launched today, gives fans the ability to replay tries and goals while watching the LIVE coverage of tonight’s second State of Origin match.

For the first time, fans can revisit crucial scoring plays, with LIVE in-match highlights including videos of tries and goals published on the NRL Live 2013 App for iPad shortly after the points are added to the scoreboard.

Telstra Media Executive Director Mark Buckman said it was one of several enhancements planned for the NRL Live App as the 2013 season progressed.

“Fans can tune into the match whether they are on a bus, stuck at work, or anywhere else they can’t get to a TV,” Buckman said.

“But we don’t just want people to be able to watch the game on their phone or tablet... it’s about making it an all-encompassing experience.

“The ability for iPad users to replay tries and goals during live coverage is a great tool we’re sure Rugby League fans will enjoy.

“It doesn’t end with the match coverage – the ability to tune in to press conferences and post-match interviews with players is just as important for many fans.”

A dynamic new layout and design has been introduced for the NRL Live 2013 App running on iPad and iPad Mini (iOS 5.1 and above).

Available to all Australians regardless of their mobile network carrier, and on WiFi, the NRL Live 2013 App is the only way to see the 2013 Holden State of Origin series live on smartphones or tablets.

The NRL Live 2013 App is available as a FREE download from the App Store and Google Play and gives access to a range of content including all NRL matches as they’re broadcast (with up to six live games a week), live scores and stats, live press conferences and full match replays.

An in-app purchase of a Weekly ($5.49 – iOS only), Monthly ($14.99) or Annual Pass ($89.99) pass opens access to Premium Content such as:

  • LIVE coverage of the 2013 Holden State of Origin series
  • LIVE video streams of the 2013 Telstra NRL Premiership, including the Finals Series and Grand Final* as it’s being broadcast on TV, with up to six live games every week.
  • LIVE Post-match Press Conferences

Telstra customers have the added benefit of incurring no data streaming and App browsing costs and superior coverage across the Telstra network, ensuring a richer on-the-go experience.

* Only available if matches are played during the eligibility period of the Weekly/Monthly/Annual pass.
