Out now, the Telstra Tough Max 2™ is the tough new smartphone designed for tradies, construction workers, miners, farmers, outdoor adventure enthusiasts or anyone seeking extra protection and durability in a smartphone.
The second iteration of the Telstra Tough Max is built tough and features:
Gorilla Glass™ for screen protection
IP67 Rating (Water and dust resistant – fresh water resistant up to 1m for up to 30 mins)
Rubber casing to help protect against bumps and knocks
Additionally, for those living and working in the more remote parts of the country, the Telstra Tough Max 2 is Blue Tick rated, 4GX* compatible and includes an RF port (for use with compatible external antennas – sold separately) to connect to Australia’s largest mobile network.
David Hunt, Head of Post-Paid Mobiles Consumer at Telstra, said, “Approximately 70 per cent of damage issues reported to the Telstra Tech Bars in 2017 were a result of drops or bumps.
“We know that phone durability and breakages are a pain-point, not only for tradies but for many smartphone users, so Telstra has worked together with ZTE to produce the Telstra Tough Max 2 and hopefully provide a solution for those customers looking for a hard wearing phone.”
The Telstra Tough Max 2 comes with a number of improvements on its previous iteration. There is a new, larger five inch screen, 16MP rear and 8MP front facing camera; 32GB of internal storage up from 16GB and a rear fingerprint scanner for fast access. Features also include Qi Wireless Charging, a large 3000mAh battery and the handset is also Quick Charge 2.0 enabled.
Telstra Tough Max 2 is available now at Telstra and JB Hi-Fi on a range of plans. Customers who take up the $79/mth Go Mobile Plus plan can benefit from no additional phone repayments, a 12-month subscription for a Foxtel Now Starter Pack (valued at up to $420), choosing from Pop, Drama, Docos, Kids, and Lifestyle options (minimum cost $1896 for 24 months).

THINGS YOU SHOULD KNOW
Blue Tick is a Telstra rating that recommends to customers which devices are better suited for coverage in regional areas of the Telstra Network.
The Telstra Mobile Network offers 4GX in all capital CBDs and selected suburban and regional areas and is progressively rolling out to more places. In other coverage areas around Australia, you’ll automatically switch to our fastest available 4G or 3G. Check coverage at telstra.com/coverage.
