Notice of withdrawal of Telstra's membership from Wireless Broadband Alliance
Dear WBA User,
Telstra has recently conducted an extensive review of its WiFi portfolio and regrettably would like to inform you of our intentions to withdraw our membership from the Wireless Broadband Alliance on the 28th February 2007.
This means that effective from this date, you will no longer be able to access Wireless Hotspots via Telstra's WBA partner networks.
These partners currently include;
- Starhub Limited in Singapore;
- Maxis Broadband in Malaysia;
- NTT Communications Corporation in Japan;
- T-Mobile USA Inc in the USA; and
- British Telecommunications plc in the UK.
Telstra's new Next G™ Network offers mobile broadband roaming to over 30 countries and GPRS roaming to over 140 countries. Please refer to www.telstra.com/nextg for more information.
As a founding member of the Wireless Broadband Alliance, Telstra would like to take this opportunity to thank you for your business and we look forward to continuing to service your telecommunications requirements in the future.
Global Wireless Broadband Experience
Until the 28th February 2007, eligible Telstra mobile customers* have the convenience of connecting to the internet wirelessly in thousands of hotspots globally.
Customers can enjoy the advantage of seamless wireless broadband access to information, communications and entertainment at the hotspots of Telstra's Alliance Partners across Asia-Pacific, USA and the UK.
Currently, Telstra's Alliance Partners include:
- Starhub Limited in Singapore;
- Maxis Broadband in Malaysia;
- NTT Communications Corporation in Japan;
- T-Mobile USA Inc in the USA; and
- British Telecommunications plc in the UK.
For example, this means that Telstra postpaid mobile customers can access the internet:
- at all Starbucks hotspots operated by T-Mobile (US) in the US;
- throughout Changi Airport in Singapore through Telstra's alliance with StarHub; and
