Browsing charges (also known as data charges) are based on the amount of data that you use to browse and download, not on the amount of time spent browsing a site. These charges only apply when you:
- access sites on the Web tab such as MySpace Mobile and ebay;
- leave the Home or Today tabs (for example, by clicking on an external website link in a Sensis Search results screen); or
- directly accessing web sites by typing in a URL into your mobile browser.
It is now free to browse within the Home and Today tabs of BigPond Mobile Services. You can now browse all your favourite stuff including music, mobile games, tones and BigPond TV, as much as you like for free. Charges apply for content downloads and subscription services - you will always be notified of these charges before you purchase or subscribe. Browsing Charges
Pay As You Go (PAYG) within Australia:
The PAYG rate within Australia is $2.00 per MB and will apply automatically unless you select a Browse Plus Pack. This will suit if you are using Web tab sites from time to time and prefer to simply pay for what you use. The PAYG option doesn't have any included allowance, and you get charged by the kilobyte (or part thereof), for your browsing.
If you're likely to access Web tab sites often, one of our Browse Plus Packs may be the better option for you.
If you want to use your mobile as a modem, we have a range of browsing plans to suit you and help avoid high data costs. Call us to arrange the best option for you.
Things you need to know
- There may be a delay of up to 48 hours for picture messages charges to reach your account.
- A default spend limit of $500 applies to BigPond Mobile Services content that you buy each month. This limit doesn’t apply to data charges for browsing, email or downloading.
- You can change between offers up to 10 times in any 12 month period. Each change made will incur a $1 fee.
