Answering your calls when you can't

For times when it's not convenient to (or you don't want to) answer calls, MessageBank® is an answering service for your mobile phone. MessageBank also helps make sure you receive missed calls when your phone is unattended, busy, out of range or has a flat battery.

Which MessageBank is for me?

MessageBank offers you a choice of service levels to help ensure you get the features and benefits best suited to your needs:

Standard

Suitable for all mobile phone users, including business customers, or if you are a Telstra Pre-Paid¹ customer. You'll receive MessageBank Standard when you activate your Telstra mobile service.

Video

Suitable for Next G™ and 3G mobile phone users, where voice and video calls are able to be received into your mailbox. You'll receive Video MessageBank when you activate your Telstra Next G or 3G service.

Combined

If you want the convenience of one message service for both your Telstra mobile phone and your Telstra business² or home phone, you can upgrade to MessageBank Combined on request.

MessageBank Features

Call Back

Call the person who left the message with the press of a button (unless the number is blocked).

Fun Greetings

Add some character and select one of our pre-recorded fun greetings for your MessageBank.

Hang Up Messages

Be notified by SMS when someone has called your mobile, heard your greeting but has hung up before leaving a message. The SMS message contains the number of the person who called you (unless the number is blocked) and the date and time of the call.

Personal Receptionist

Your callers have the choice of leaving you a voice message or being transferred to another fixed or Australian mobile number that you nominate, where the call can be answered on your behalf. Personal Receptionist numbers must be a full national telephone number, including area code if applicable or '102' for the Telstra Memo service.

Special Delivery

Special Delivery allows you to request MessageBank call you at a specified number when you receive a message.

It's simple, just dial 101 and follow the voice prompts to guide you through the MessageBank functions. For more details, please call 125 111.

Things you need to know

Telstra Pre-Paid customers need a Next G™ service to use Video MessageBank. The message retrieval rate for Next G Pre-Paid services is 25c per 30 secs (or part).
2.
MessageBank Business is no longer available to new connections.
3.
Call charges (including connection fee) and retrieval rates apply.
4.
Standard Carrier rates apply if retrieving messages from a phone other than the nominated service. If you are using MessageBank Roaming while you are overseas, MessageBank Roaming rates will apply.
