Call Back Notification

Off the air doesn't have to mean out of reach

If callers can't get through to you because your Telstra mobile phone isn't forwarding calls to a messaging service (like MessageBank®), the Call Back Notification Service lets them leave a number for you to return the call.

With Call Back Notification, callers that can't get through will have the option to leave a number for you to return their call. Call Back Notification works when your mobile phone is switched off, out of range, busy or unanswered.

Callers will hear this message: "The person you have called is not available. To send your number via SMS please select one of the options after the tone. Standard call charges apply if you proceed."

Rapid alert

If the caller leaves a return phone number, you will receive an SMS with the caller's contact number and the date and time of the call. To return the call, you simply press the send key two or three times (depending on your mobile phone).

Free alerts

Callers will not be charged for having their number sent via SMS, unless they choose to send a different number from the one they are calling from or their Call Line Identification (CLI) is blocked and they wish to leave a call back number. Standard call charges will apply in these instances.

When you don't want to be notified

Although this is a standard Telstra mobile network feature, you can choose not to receive notifications (free of charge). Contact us on 125 111 for more information.

How to delete old messages

Deleting old SMS messages will free up memory space for new ones. Usually your phone will prompt you after each message or you can check your mobile phone manual for more details.
