Step 1: Choose a plan
With Telstra's Mobile Member Plans, you get an amount of included value for use on calls, text and picture messaging (like MMS and SMS) plus a monthly member credit.
When choosing a Member Plan you'll need to consider minimum monthly spend, call rates, included calls and what your usage is likely to be.
$20 Member Plans and above include a bonus monthly credit on your bill which you can use to help cover or offset your mobile phone repayments. Plus all Mobile Member Plan customers get even more value with the choice of one of our great Bonus Options in Step 3.

All of these plans are available on a 12-month or 24-month contract and give you the choice of a Bonus Option.
Step 2: Choose a mobile phone to suit your plan
With Telstra's Member Plans, there are three mobile phone options:
- Mobile Repayment Option (MRO)
- Choose a Member Plan eg. $40 which includes a $7.50 monthly member credit.
- Choose a mobile phone from our large range eg. Samsung A501 = $528 outright.
- Choose from one of Telstra's MRO tiers by deciding how much you want to pay each month and over what timeframe eg. $528 on a 24-month tier.
- Outright Purchase
- BYO: Bring your Own
As the name suggests, you choose to pay as much or as little upfront for a mobile phone and then repay the remainder over 12, 18 or 24 months - interest free.
Remember when combining the MRO option with a Member Plan, your member credit can offset the monthly mobile phone repayments.
Here's an example of how it works:
This means that you would pay $0 upfront and then $22 per month over 24 months (the pre-determined repayment figure from Telstra depends on your contract term).
If you then use your $7.50 monthly member credit to offset your repayments, you'll only be out of pocket $14.50 each month (over 24 months) for the latest and greatest new mobile phone.

This is a great option if you already have a mobile phone and simply want to connect to Telstra and start receiving our member benefits. It's important to know that if you BYO your old mobile phone you may not get all the benefits and services of Telstra's Next G™ network. This means there's never been a better reason to upgrade.
Step 3: Choose a Bonus Option
Telstra gives you a choice of Bonus Options³ so you can tailor your mobile phone package to suit your usage and get maximum value. With six choices, there are options to suit everyone.
20c for 10min Night - For people who like to talk at night.
Pay 20c for the first 10 minutes of national voice or video calls to any other mobile phone on any Australian network, from 8pm - 7am, 7 days a week. Better yet, there's no call connection fee.
Free 24/7 - For people who call the same number regularly.
Nominate one Telstra mobile phone or any eligible fixed line number in Australia and for the first 3 minutes of the voice or video call, it's free, anytime. There's also no call connection fee. (A $3 set-up fee applies).
Free Text - For people who text a lot of Telstra mobile phones.
Send 200 free SMS messages to any other Telstra mobile phone in Australia between 8pm and 7am each night. Plus, all other SMS to Telstra mobile phones or mobile phones on other networks in Australia will be charged at 15c per SMS at all times.
Free 50 Text - For people who text a couple of times a day.
Send 50 free text messages to any mobile phone on any network in Australia (or 50 free Talking Text messages on a Telstra home phone) each month, 24 hrs, 7 days.²
My Hour - For people who like to catch up with friends and family during an allocated time.
Nominate one hour of the day or night to receive the first 20 minutes of each voice or video call within that hour - free. You can call any eligible fixed or mobile phone number within Australia any day of the week. (Not available on $10 Member plans.)
Per Second Saver - For people who make lots of short calls.
Only pay for the time that you use. Voice and video call rates are charged per second instead of in 30 second blocks, 24 hrs, 7 days. A 27c call connection fee applies.

- Save the environment - Telstra customers receive 216 million A4 sheets of paper in bills every year. Help reduce the impact on our environment by registering with My Account and turning your paper bill off.
- Manage your account - allows you to add and remove additional services (like silent number) and change plans easily by yourself.
- Query your bill - save time and choose to query individual call charges from your computer without having to call and speak to an operator.

Rewards
With Reward Options, Telstra gives you even more reason to package your Telstra services.
If you have an eligible fixed service with Telstra plus at least one other eligible Telstra service, such as a mobile phone, BigPond internet or Pay TV account - simply bundle them together into one package and be rewarded.³
