Plans & Rates
With Telstra's Cap Plans, you get high included calls so you know your normal use is covered. Just pay the Cap start amount and you’ll only pay for what you use over and above the Cap end amount and for usage not included in the Cap amount.
Telstra's Cap Plans are only available when you purchase a new mobile phone on a Mobile Repayment Option (MRO). Telstra Cap Plans are available on a 12 months or 24 months plan.

Mobile Repayment Option
With a Mobile Repayment Option (MRO) you choose to pay as much or as little upfront for a mobile phone and then repay the remainder over 12, 18 or 24 months, interest free. You can choose your mobile phone from the selection available through Phone Select.
You can also choose to include an eligible mobile phone accessory in your MRO like car kits, portable handsfree kits, phone chargers, batteries, data cables and leather cases.
Your repayments will vary depending on the phone cost and whether you want to pay it off over 12, 18 or 24 months. For example:

Things you need to know
A payment processing fee is charged for Telstra bills paid by credit card. For Visa, MasterCard and American Express the rate is 1% of the payment amount, plus applicable GST. For Diners Club the rate is 2% of the payment amount, plus applicable GST.
Some exemptions from this fee also apply, including for eligible pensioner concession card holders.

What you need to know about Telstra Mobile Services (PDF, 325KB)
- Min cost for Plan 49 is $588 for 12 months and $1176 for 24 months, on 3G and Next G Cap Plan 79 is $948 for 12 months and $1896 for 24 months, on 3G and Next G Cap Plan 99 is $1188 over 12 months and $2376 over 24 months and on 3G and Next G Cap Plan 129 is $1548 for 12 months and $3096 for 24 months plus cost of handset and charges plus excess usage charges and any MRO handset repayments. Unused calls expire each month. Charges apply for usage over and above cap end amount and for services not included in cap amount (eg calls to 13 numbers, data services, international calls, some premium numbers and operator-assisted calls).
- Excludes some calls/text/data such as data calls, operator assisted calls, premium number calls (such as '19xx' and '13xx' calls), some calls to 12xx, premium SMS, international text, picture and video messages, calls made and received while overseas, Push to Talk calls, 1234 calls, third party content charges, PocketNews and information calls. Unused calls/text/data expires monthly.
- An SMS is up to 160 characters and an MMS is up to 500KB in size.
- On handsets that support WAP 2.0/XHTML.
- Your eligible services must not be managed across our old and
new billing customer care systems to receive Telstra Reward Options.
Eligible customers need HomeLine® Plus, Advanced, Ultimate,
Together or Reach, plus have one or more of the following eligible
service types on a Single Bill.
- Telstra post-paid mobile plan $20 or above per month (excludes satellite and some other post-paid plans);
- Any BigPond® Dial-Up Internet, Satellite post-paid plan $20 or above per month or any BigPond ADSL, Cable or Wireless Broadband plan of $39.95 or above per month (excludes services under offer codes 3288 and 5468); or
- FOXTEL from Telstra.
Family calls are standard national voice calls between your eligible home phone and your mobile services on Telstra Single Bill. Limits apply on the number of services that may be included; only one Reward Option per account; incompatible with any other packages, special offers or Telstra’s Pensioner Discount and some offers. Some services are excluded. Unused calls/messages expire monthly. Excludes some calls/text.
