Understanding Your Bill

At Telstra, our bills are designed to make sense of your monthly mobile spend. If there is an item on your account you don't understand, just call us on 125 111 and we’ll be happy to explain it.

Telstra bills are also tax invoices that show the amount of GST included. Items that do not attract GST are shown as 'GST free'.

Paying your bill

Telstra offers you a wide range of payment options so you can pay in the way most suited to your needs. You could pay your bill over the phone using your credit card, at a Telstra Shop, at the post office or online.

When do I receive my bills?

When you become a Telstra mobile customer your bill will be sent to you monthly. Please note however, your first bill will arrive one to two weeks after you activate your service and from then on you will receive it monthly. You'll also receive a leaflet explaining what's on your bill. If you ever find an item you don't understand, call Telstra Mobile Customer Service on 125 111 and we'll be happy to explain.

What is my monthly access fee?

Depending on your chosen minimum monthly spend level, the monthly price you pay for using the Telstra mobile network will vary.

What are my call charges?

The cost of your mobile phone calls varies according to your chosen plan, the calls you make and when you make them. When you compare mobile phone costs, always compare the total amount of your bill - not just individual items. It's easy to offer discounts on small items or special rates at certain times of day or night, but at Telstra we want to offer you the best bottom line.

Check your contract commitments

When it comes to buying a mobile phone, there are many special offers that make some phones look very cheap. Be careful and always check the total cost. Make sure you know the monthly fee you are committed to, and what happens if you are on a fixed term contract and your phone is lost, stolen or damaged.

You may wish to include your mobile phone in your house and contents insurance or another insurance policy so that any loss or theft doesn't leave you out of pocket.
