Can someone help me with my outlook client configuration?
I have migrated to Outlook.com as part of the migration of my @bigpond.net.au email account to Hotmail.
The question is around client settings for my outlook installation on my laptop. I want to be able to see the same messages on my mobile devices (iPads and iPhones) as well as my outlook client.
My old configuration was that outlook would download all the messages from the bigpond mails server, but I want to have all the messages stay on Hotmail (Outlook.com) now and be visible by all devices.
What settings do I need?
I also want to see folders (that I create on hotmail) and have them sync'd on the Outlook client.
If you have been moved to outlook.com, simply add your bigpond account as if you were adding a "Hotmail" email account on your iPhone and iPad.
As for your Outlook client, I trust that you have changed your server settings to take full advantage of the Outlook offering, and I would expect that to work for you .
Thanx for the info. I have no issues with the iPad or iPhone.
The issue is that the Outlook client connects and downloads all the messages. I can select if the messages are removed from the server etc. but I can't see the folders that I can on the web client and on my iDevices.
I'd like the Outlook client to work like it does with Exchange servers where you are seeing the messages cached on the client but they are all on the server still.
Delete a message using one device and it disappears from all others. That sort of thing.
If thats the case, have you really been moved to Outlook.com, or just the new version of Outlook on your PC?
I can connect my iDevices to outlook.com and I can connect my outlook PC client to it also, but I don't see folders that I've created in outlook.com on my outlook client.
Any idea why?
Honestly not sure, what sort of PC are you using?
You might also get assistance at Microsoft's Outlook.com forum unless someone else has more instructions.
The link was helpful. I found that I should be downloading the Outlook Hotmail Connector.
I'll try this tonight and see if it resolves my issues.
Thanx for your help.
It was the Outlook Hotmail Connector that I needed.
All sorted now.
