It's Telstra's superfast fourth generation mobile network
How does 4G differ from 3G?
Upgrade to 4G and you'll enjoy faster download speeds, a more responsive internet connection, and less video buffering in 4G coverage area. And when you're outside the coverage area, you'll still enjoy our fastest available 3G speeds.
Why should I want 4G?
You can stream videos with less buffering, download HD movies faster, upload photos in a flash, watch live TV in HD, play multiplayer games online, load websites in a heartbeat, and much more when in 4G coverage areas.
In which locations is 4G available?
Within a 5KM radius of the GPO in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Perth, Adelaide, Darwin, Hobart and Canberra. Plus 80 additional regional and metropolitan area (meaning within 3KM of the regional town centre).
What if I move outside the 4G area?
Where 4G is not available, You'll still enjoy super fast 3G speeds, which can include dual channel 3G speeds previously unavailable on handsets in Australia.
What 4G products are available?
As well as the Samsung Galaxy SII 4G, there's a range of 4G smartphones, tablets, mobile broadband USBs and wi-fi hotspots.
Things you need to know
THINGS YOU NEED TO KNOW: If you cancel early, you must repay the remaining handset repayments in addition to any early termination charges for your service.
TELSTRA 4G: Typical download speeds in capital city CBDs (meaning within 5km from GPO) and selected regional locations (meaning 3km from town centre) are from 2Mbps to 40Mbps and in other areas speed ranges will be less. Actual speeds vary due to factors such as location, distance from the base station, local terrain, user numbers, hardware & software configuration and download source/upload destination. Some Location Based Services currently only work with 3G. Your phone may switch to 3G or you may have to manually enter your location to access these services. EVERY DAY CONNECT PLAN: Included allowance and unlimited nights free talk excludes some usage; such as calls/text/MMS to premium numbers (e.g. 19xx numbers), 1234, 12455, 12456 numbers and to some satellite numbers, content charges and use while overseas. Unused allowances expire monthly. Only available to new customers and those with a 13 digit account number. DELIVERY: You must be at your nominated address with ID to receive delivery of your phone.
