This Additional Service lets BigPond ADSL and Cable users dial up for their BigPond® service across Australia.
Why get it?
If you need the internet but can't access your broadband connection, this service is for you.
Dial-Up for Broadband features include -

- Usage charged at $4.95/hour (inc. GST) plus local call costs1
Dial-Up for Broadband is available on PSTN up to 56kbps.

Static IP for ADSL
Why get Static IP?
With a BigPond® Static IP address, your computer will be assigned a constant, fixed location on the internet.
This opens up a world of online benefits, and allows you to:
- Offer online services like VPN
- Remotely access your files or mail sever
- Run a server
- Host online gaming sessions
- Host your own domain name
- Ensure other computers can locate your computer anywhere across the internet
- Conduct voice-over-IP calls or other web-based services
Some online business services also insist on a Static IP address for security authentication purposes.
What is Static IP?
An IP address is a unique identifier for your computer, while it's connected to the internet. The IP address for BigPond ADSL is dynamic by default. This means your computer is assigned a different IP address each time you connect to the BigPond network.
With BigPond's Static IP for ADSL service, your computer is assigned the same IP address every time you connect to the BigPond network. These permanent IP addresses are like phone numbers and ensure other computers can easily find yours across the Internet.
Looking to host services on your BigPond ADSL service without having to notify everyone each time you reconnect to the internet? Then BigPond Static IP is for you.
Pricing
Static IP costs $10 per month and is conveniently charged to your BigPond account. (charged monthly in advance)1
Telstra Internet Direct
Your Static IP address will be assigned to your Primary User log-in. If you support several users, your sub-accounts will be provided with a normal dynamic IP address whenever they log in.
If you need more than one Static IP address, Telstra Internet Direct may be the solution.

Set up
Start with a free trial1
- BigPond® Security is a subscription service which protects up to 3 of your computers. Once you press the sign up button and complete your order, you'll be redirected to My BigPond Security.
- From there you just press the "Install" button to install BigPond Security and BigPond Safecentral on the computers you wish to protect.
- Once you complete the install, the software is upgraded automatically to help keep you secure against the latest viruses and threats.
- You'll also get an email with full details of the service, including links to My BigPond Security and information about your account.

If you've changed your computer or need to install on another one simply log in to MyBigPond Security from that computer and install one of your other licences.
