Connection and moving fees

If you're moving both your home phone and broadband and a technician is not required to visit your premises (previously $114 when both moved). Please note, only services currently on a single bill are eligible.

Transfer your existing Telstra services or connect additional services to a new address.
Things you need to know
A payment processing fee is charged for Telstra bills paid by credit card. For Visa, MasterCard and American Express the rate is 1% of the payment amount, plus applicable GST. For Diners Club the rate is 2% of the payment amount, plus applicable GST. Some exemptions from this fee apply, including for eligible pensioner concession card holders. Visit our Bill Payment Fees page for more information on this fee and the exemptions that may be available to you.
- HomeLine® Budget customers agree not to acquire services from other carriage service providers by dialling their access override code and must not acquire a broadband service from another service provider which is provided using line sharing technology.
- If few calls are made, this plan may not be the most appropriate for your needs because your average call costs may be higher than on another of our HomeLine plans. Calls to 13 and 1300 numbers are not local calls.
- Calls to Telstra Mobiles and calls to non-Telstra mobiles exclude calls to satellite numbers.
- For most direct dialled calls from most fixed phones to the UK, New Zealand, Ireland, USA, Canada, Hong Kong and Singapore.
- Incompatible with some offers including Rewards Packages 5%, 10%.
- Call charges may apply.
- Not available to business customers. An eligible pensioner may apply to receive the Telstra Pensioner Discount on either one new service connection, or one in-place connection, at their principal place of residence only. Customers must contact us and request the Telstra Pensioner Discount to be applied to their service; it is not automatically applied. The customer must re-apply for the concession if they are new or returning to Telstra.
- Temporary connection charge applies if your home phone service is connected for three months or less. If you cancel your service within three months, you will need to pay the $100 difference between the Standard and Temporary Connection charges. Additional charges may apply for items such as cabling past the first socket, trenching or more difficult installations. Additional line fee only applies if installed at the same time at the same premises and for the same customer as first line.
- Where an additional telephone service is required but all ports for telephone services are occupied, an additional ONT will need to be installed. This will be treated as a new service.
- To USA and New Zealand only. Other rates apply to other destinations.
*Our consultants will assess whether the installation is likely to be standard or non-standard when you request the service. This assessment will need to be confirmed by the technician when he or she arrives at your property. If the fee changes, you will be advised prior to the technician commencing work.
**The Technician Visit Fee will not be charged when socket installation is part of a phone line connection where technician visit is already required.
