What is Memo?

"Hello. Ted Smith's plumbing supplies, can I take your message?"

Memo is a messaging service that can be attached to any Telstra mobile phone. A receptionist answers your calls with a personalised greeting and forwards your messages.

How do I receive my messages?

Your caller's message is typed out by the receptionist and sent to your mobile phone as an SMS message. These messages can be up to 160 characters long, which is about 30-40 words.

At your request, messages can also be sent to a nominated email address, so you can read, save, filter and forward all your Memo messages from your PC.

Can I use a Telstra fixed-line phone with Memo?

Yes. A Telstra fixed-line phone can be combined with the Memo service on your mobile account so that all calls to the fixed phone can be forwarded to the Memo Reception Centre.

An overseas traveller With Enhanced Memo Roaming and a Telstra GSM phone, your messaging service works in the same way as it does in Australia (provided the country you are in supports SMS messaging).

How do I forward my calls to Memo?

When your Memo service is first turned on and ready to use, you will receive a welcome SMS message. You can then forward your calls to the Memo Reception Centre as follows:

  • With a Telstra GSM mobile phone call **004*102#
  • With a Telstra CDMA mobile phone call *66#102#
