The Overland Office
To put the Telstra Mobile Wi-Fi device to the test, we sent a father and son dog grooming business on the road; travelling an epic 4000km from Melbourne to Darwin via Adelaide and Alice Springs. The challenge - to continue the day-to-day running of their business at stops along the way, whilst visiting other small businesses to see how they’re using Telstra Mobile Wi-Fi to improve how they work on the go.
And to delight the four-legged friends of the businesses they meet, the team serves up some much needed pooch pampering.
Stop 1 - Melbourne
The boys get their first assignment - a Spoodle having a bad hair day. They also meet a partner of BidEnergy, a small business specialising in online energy auctions.
Stop 2 - Whyalla
Dog whisperer Mark tames a sausage dog with a spicy attitude. They also meet the owner of Sitemed, a remote medical assistance provider.
Stop 4 - Alice Springs
Old dogs learn new tricks at the Alice Springs dog show, then the team meets a small business specialising in training for remote communities.
Stop 5 - Katherine
The team visits the historic Daly Waters hotel then heads to Katherine to visit a watermelon farm – Red Dirt Melons.
Stop 6 - Manton Dam
The groomers bite off more than they can chew with a croc wash. They also meet Delta Electrics, a small business using Mobile Wi-Fi at substations across the Territory.
Finish - Darwin
It’s the final wash-up as the big blue dog rolls into Darwin. They also meet HPA, a small business helping to change the lives of those living with disability.
