Telstra Mobile Connect is a complete solution to help you manage your many mobile devices - an often complex and time consuming task. It can reduce the burden on your IT staff and increase the productivity and responsiveness of your mobile workers.
Overview
Telstra Mobile Connect means your mobile staff can easily access business applications when out of the office, while helping IT managers control multiple smart mobile devices. It can help increase the productivity and responsiveness of your mobile workers, while also potentially reducing the burden on your IT staff.
Telstra Mobile Connect allows you to run business applications such as Microsoft ActiveSync over SSL (Secure Sockets Layer) with no excess usage charges when devices are in Australia on the Telstra Next G® network1. For other applications that do not use SSL, an internet data allowance is provided2. Use the plan with a wide array of compatible smartphones and tablets (including Microsoft Windows® Phone, Apple® iOS, Android™ and Nokia Symbian).
To manage smartphones and tablets remotely, you can log in to the Telstra Mobile Device Management online portal available exclusively with Mobile Connect3. The Mobile Device Management portal allows IT managers to perform routine administration quickly and simply for a range of compatible devices. We also provide a single point of contact for easier resolution of technical device issues across multiple operating systems.
Things you need to know
- Data sent or received by a device on the Telstra Next G® network in Australia through port 443 SSL. The speed of your SSL business data will be slowed to 100kbps if data usage on SSL business application software exceeds 2GB per month. Other charges such as overseas roaming, voice plan and voice call costs are not included.
- Excess usage charges apply in relation to internet data usage (non-SSL data).
- We can provide Mobile Connect customers with a first time login password for access to the Mobile Device Management portal. Features and functions vary based on device model.
Mobile Connect is only available to customers with a 10 digit account number.

Things you need to know
- Telstra can provide Mobile Connect customers with a first time login password for access to the Mobile Device Management portal. Customers with Apple devices must have an existing subscription to Apple’s iOS Enterprise Developer program (annual subscription charge) and create their own enterprise Apple certificate to use the MDM portal with Apple devices. Features and functions vary based on device model.
- With appropriate virtual private network (VPN) settings. Additional software and/or hardware may be required.

When subscribed to Mobile Connect, you get access to the Telstra Mobile Device Management Portal to help you remotely manage devices quickly and conveniently. No setup is required - you simply visit the Telstra portal and enter your mobile account number and password1.
Depending on the device you can:
- Configure devices settings such as ActiveSync, WiFi, APN, VPN
- Restrict device applications such as camera, YouTube, App Store
- Enable security features on devices such as lock, wipe, enforce passwords
- Deploy enterprise applications
- Query device information such as storage, serial number, roaming status, software applications
- Send SMS messages
- Export reports on devices being used by staff.
