Telstra Pre-Paid
for Tablets

Whether you’ve purchased a Pre-Paid Tablet from Telstra, or have your own Telstra Next G® compatible device, you can take advantage of Australia’s largest national mobile broadband network on the Pre-Paid Data+ Cap Offer. And, because it’s Pre-Paid, you can choose to recharge as often as you like, with no need to be locked into a 12 or 24-month fixed term contract.

Getting Started

Once you have your new Telstra Pre-Paid SIM card, just follow the next steps to get going.

Step 1. You can Activate your SIM card by going to telstra.com.au/activate or by calling 12 5 8887, and follow the prompts for Tablets.

If you’re calling from a non-Telstra service and are having trouble getting through, call 13 22 00 and say “Pre-Paid” when prompted.

You’ll also need:

  • Identification such as driver’s license or passport and your date of birth.
  • The service number and SIM serial number that can be found on the back of the back of starter pack, or box.
  • Authority to create a new account, or to link this new service with an existing service.

Step 2. Insert the SIM into your tablet and then turn the device on.

Things you need to know

  • Bonus Credit (Talk/Text) is only available when your SIM is placed in a voice/SMS capable device.
  • The data rate per MB is determined by your most recent recharge denomination. Please note that if you recharge at a lower recharge denomination, the data rate per MB for that lower recharge denomination, will also apply to any unused credit that rolls over.
  • Your Bonus Credit (Talk/Text) does not roll over and can be used for calls, SMS and MMS to standard Australian and international numbers. Any call/SMS/MMS usage will firstly be deducted from the Bonus Credit. Once you have used the Bonus Credit, subsequent voice/SMS/MMS usage will be deducted from any remaining Recharge Credit. All voice/SMS/MMS usage will be charged at the rate in the table on the next tab.
  • Bonus Credit (Talk/Text) excludes calls/SMS to satellite numbers, premium numbers (for example, 19xx numbers), operator assisted and info calls (for example, most 12xx numbers), content charges, MessageBank, diverted calls and use while overseas.

How to
recharge

Recharge as and when you need to, whether you just want to just check your email each day, or get involved in some heavy duty internet access, such as videos and music.

The easiest way to recharge is to set up a shortcut to My Account on your tablet home screen. You won’t need any recharge credit to access this. You just need access to the Telstra Next G® network.

You can do this as follows:

Step 1. Open the internet browser and type myprepaid.telstra.com/mbb in the address bar, then press Go or Return.

Step 2. Once the page loads, save this page to your home screen as a Bookmark.

A My Account icon will be created on your home screen. You then have the following options to recharge your Telstra Pre-Paid Data+ Cap account.

Handy Hint: To access My Account from your tablet, you must turn off any Wi-Fi connection that you have open.
