Telstra today announced the addition of the Nokia N85 to its Next G™ range, giving customers access to the best in mobile entertainment on Australia's largest and fastest 3G national mobile broadband network.

Telstra Consumer, Executive Director, Ms Glenice Maclellan, said the Nokia N85 adds to the growing number of feature rich wireless devices available on the Next G™ network.

"The Nokia N85 combines a state of the art 5MP camera with an 8GB memory card which is perfect for downloading and storing music and videos from the huge range BigPond mobile has to offer.

"The combination of this highly featured device with Telstra's wide range of advanced mobile content and applications like Sensis Search, Whereis and Trading Post give customers unrivalled value and opportunities to enjoy all the benefits of the largest and fastest mobile network in Australia - the Next G™ network.

Mr Ross Fielding, Executive Director, Telstra Product Management, said the Nokia N85 combines style and functionality in a sleek, compact, slider handset.

"The Nokia N85 gives customers access to 3G applications like Mobile FOXTEL from Telstra, BigPond TV and Whereis Navigator with in-built GPS capabilities. With a long battery life and plenty of memory, customers can stay connected for longer when out and about.

"The handset boasts a 2.6 inch OLED display, ideal for viewing photos taken with the 5MP camera, a DVD quality video camera and player, stereo MP3 player and in-built FM transmitter, and much more.

"The Nokia N85 is Bluetooth and Wi-Fi enabled, and gives customers fast access to friends with instant messaging, mobile internet, widgets and social networking," Mr Fielding said.

The handset is compatible with MyConnect, Telstra's next generation messaging suite for Next G™ and BigPond customers. MyConnect combines email, voicemail, picture messaging, SMS and multimedia communications in one secure, integrated online and mobile service.

The Nokia N85 has a recommended retail price of $1199 and is available on a $100 plan for 24 months. It is available from March 17 on Telstra's Next G™ network from Telstra Shops and dealers, by calling 125 111 and online at Telstra.com.
