Dial before you dig

Did you know a construction worker cutting through a cable in a busy city street can affect the communications services for more than 70,000 people, severing links between family, friends, government, business, emergency services, healthcare services and banks.

With careful planning and some extra effort, you can ensure that you're not responsible for damaging one of Australia's most precious and valuable assets.

You must contact Dial Before You Dig to register your request for plans of underground services at the location in which you intend to dig. Your request will then be referred to the relevant underground asset owners who will then forward plans to you. Telstra is a member of Dial Before You Dig and will forward relevant cable plans to you following your request. You must endeavour to have the plans in your possession prior to commencing work.
